DELVE DRINKS:
Cleo’s (1935 W. Chicago Ave.): A no frills yet cool neighborhood hangout. Go in the summer, grab a beer and sit on the patio. Or go on Mondays, grab a beer and order the 25 cent wings.
Bar DeVille (1958 W. Huron St.): We love this corner bar for its cocktail menu, décor (a mix between French chic and your grandma’s basement) and photo booth. We like it late night on a Saturday or on a Thursday night out.
DELVE EATS:
Jam (937 N. Damen Ave.): We can’t get enough of Jam for brunch and can’t wait for their dinner service in April. The restaurant is adorable, it’s byob and the menu is a mix of comfort favorites with a unique twist.
Mexique (1529 W. Chicago Ave.): Mexique showcases the confluence of French and Mexican cuisines inspired by the French in-habitation of Mexico in mid-1800's. The restaurant is welcoming and the chef himself is a delight. Try the French Onion soup with poblanos or Puerco con Mole (pork tenderloin with mole). Tuesdays’ special is half price bottles of wine, can’t beat that.
Flo (1434 W. Chicago Ave.): Flo is great for a weekday din. It’s laid back, inexpensive and the comforting Southwest style grub will cure your work day worries. So will the sangria and mojitos. The namesake Flo Bowl with grilled chicken, shrimp, chicken sausage, zucchini, red pepper, onion, ladled with poblano-chipotle crema is a Delve favorite.
A Tavola (2148 W. Chicago Ave.): Romantic Italian gem with a menu that small and straight from your Nonna's kitchen. You can make a reservation for dinner or for the monthly cooking classes offered on Mondays.
Sunrise Café (2012 W. Chicago Ave.): If you are looking for hot coffee, a Denver omelet and to not be seen or sceney on a hung over Saturday morning – this is the place for you. Sunrise is a great diner with the breakfast classics.
To Come…
Chicago Bowl: The team behind Brooklyn Bowl in you guessed it, Brooklyn, are coming to Chicago Ave. in 2012 with bowling, fab fare and a divey-esqe bar. Yes and yes!
