Bangers & Lace

Since West Town/Wicker Park seems to be our neighborhood o’ imbibing this week, we wanted to fill you all in on another little gem. It’s not brand new. It’s not large. It’s not boasting a huge dine-in menu.

But it does have lace curtains…

While my music-loving cohort chatted with the bartender about the drop of the new Strokes album (who knew!), I canvassed the beer list. True to form (since I only knew about a fourth of the beers on the list), I went straight for the IPAs. After my first beer (a BrewDog Punk IPA), I branched out a bit. By the end of the evening, we had tastes (“tastes”) of the Two Hearted Ale, La Chouffe and the Baird Red Rose Amber Ale. The IPA took the crown, followed closely by the Baird Amber Ale.

Word of advice: talk to the bartender. Tell him your beer of choice and he will give you one of theirs that complements just that.
