Advanced Sushi

Between Avec and Blackbird, the West Loop has no shortage of desirable food options. However, there is a little sushi shop nestled in the neighborhood that is worth checking out if the wait times of the aforementioned leave your stomach grumbling.

Enter Meiji - the contemporary sushi bar boasting a plethora of creative appetizers (we drooled over the Sakura O featuring chili marinated tuna and jalapeno on crispy rice, drizzled with plum sauce) and mouthwatering rolls (we recommend the Shogun featuring shrimp tempura, cream cheese, spicy mayo, avocado and scallions topped with tempura crunch and spicy mayo). Timid palates beware, there are no standard rolls on this menu (sorry California roll lovers), but venture out of your comfort zone and we promise you won't be disappointed.
