Do Good This Weekend

It's officially Summer. And as Chicagoans, there is one thing that we cannot live without this time of year. Our beloved beaches.

To help keep our beaches "barefoot friendly" Barefoot Wine (along with the Surfrider Foundation) is hosting a beach cleanup this Saturday at Oak Street Beach from 2-4 p.m.

Need some incentive other than the solid, heart-felt warmth (not to mention the tan!) you'll experience leaving the cleanup? No problem. Following the cleanup, head to the North Patio at Navy Pier to celebrate with some complimentary surf-inspired bites, Barefoot Wine (of course!) and live music by Brett Dennen.

RSVP now (or up until an hour before the cleanup) at BeachRescue2011.com.

We heart our beaches, but not when they're messy. Are we right or are we right?
