Allons-y à Paris (club)

Offering a modern take on French fare, Paris Club’s menu is stocked with items meant for sharing. In an attempt to dismiss the stuffiness often attached to the French dining scene, the Melman brothers, along with French powerhouse Chef Joho (formerly of Everest, Eiffel Tower, Brasserie JO Boston) designed the menu with the goal of serving up approachable French fare in a casual, relaxed setting. Mission accomplished.

Delve Eats:

French onion fondue – Everything you love about French onion soup in a fondue, made for sharing. One of the universal favorites of the table.

Small pot of mussels – garnished with lime, not our favorite, but still pretty amazing.

Smoked salmon and avocado on brioche – another crowd pleaser. Served on brioche, this refreshing dish was a welcome break from all of the cheese and the salmon was smoked to perfection.

Steak frites – a top cut ordered up medium-rare, definitely one of the best steak frites we’ve had.

Frites fromage – Fries and cheese (gouda and gruyere). Clearly there is no way to mess this one up. Amazing.

Obviously we made sure to save room for dessert, and were glad we did. Chocolate Mousse and Pistachio Pot Du Créme were our pick at the recommendation of our fabulous waitress - and she nailed it.

Delve Drinks:
The only Chicago restaurant serving wine on tap, we had no other choice but to take that route and you can’t go wrong between the pinots (gris and noir). Other recommended cocktails include: French 59 (st. germain, mandarine napoléon, bubbly) and the Gin Gin (hendrick's, canton, esprit de june, grapefruit).

Delve Insider Scoop:
Coming soon (plan is currently to open in June) is Studio Paris, the half indoor, half outdoor, retractable roof lounge coming to the upstairs of Paris Club. Delve chatted with Jerrod Melman on plans for Studio Paris, and from what they already know, we can expect a loungey feel, with guest DJ’s and a food menu that is still in the works. Jury is still out on if table service will be available, but we are sure it will be tres chic.
