Must See: Bill Cunningham New York

While he is a New York Times legend, us fashion-obsessed Chicagoans will surely be fascinated with the soon-to-be released documentary on Bill Cunningham. If you're not familiar with Mr. Cunningham, he is the eccentric, Schwinn-riding photographer, chronicling fashion and high-society for the Times Style section for as long as we can remember. The documentary is sure to be a poignant piece on the man behind the camera and based off the trailer (watch here), we frankly couldn't be more excited.

The critically acclaimed film will be released in limited theaters across the country. Lucky for us, the Music Box theatre (3733 N. Southport) will be airing the film May 20-26. Just for Bill, we'll be there in our Sunday's best.

Workout in the Park Hits Chicago

On The Dock of the Bay

Move over Castaways, there's a new and improved lakefront spot in town. Opening later this month, The Dock at Montrose Beach is promising a solid menu (full menu out soon) of fish tacos, Kobe beef burgers and seared tuna salads. We're obviously most interested in learning what the drink menu will consist of, but we have visions of coconut water pina coladas and coronas dancing in our heads.

The 3,300 square foot patio deck officially opens Memorial Day weekend.

One Tequila, Two Tequila...

Any holiday that involves tequila and guacamole is an automatic favorite in our book. Who needs Christmas when there’s an entire day dedicated to salting, sipping and lime’ing? Need some last minute ideas on where to head after work for endless imbibing with your favorite uncles: Julio, Pat(ron) and Jose? Look no further:

Salud Street Festival – Live music, dancing, mariachis and, most importantly, sangria. The 5^th annual street fest (at Honore & Milwaukee) kicks off at 3 p.m. and costs a reasonable $5 entry fee benefiting Friends of Burr School.

Dos Diablos Street Concert – If you’re a sucker for a cover band like us, this is your jam. Pop/Rock cover bands 7^th Heaven and Rock Candy will be hitting the stage outside of Dos Diablos (17 W Hubbard) tonight, starting at 6 p.m.

Look for Less: Missoni for Target

It has been quite the year for "designer for less" collaborations, from Matthew Williamson for Macy's to Lanvin for H&M - we have been fans of them all. Thankfully, we see no signs of this trend dying down as Vogue just reported that our favorite zig zag knitwear label (yup, Missoni) has signed a deal with Target. Joining the ranks of designers like Zac Posen, Rodarte and Proenza Schouler, Missoni will leave their infamous mark on everything from clothing to housewares and linens. The line hits Target stores nationwide this Fall (September - October) and needless to say we are dying to see the fruits of this partnership.
