Chicago Real Estate Daily announced that American Junkie, a Scottsdale-based nightclub, just agreed to lease a 15k-square-foot building at 15 W. Illinois. Our Scottsdale friends didn't have the best things to say about this spot (think graphic tees and Red Bull galore), but there are a few things keeping us somewhat optimistic:
- Retractable roof: any downtown club can pretty much expect success when they offer Chicagoans a chance to soak up the sun.
- Apparently the bar will be equipped with a “Junkie Wheel,” letting patrons win anything from free booze to being forced to leave the club. Here’s to playing the odds…
- There’s a Chicagoan serving as part-owner of the establishment, so at least there’s a chance that this will stay true to Chicago scene preferences (i.e. ditch the bottle sparklers and table dancers).
Hello Chicagoans,
ReplyDeleteI understand your misinterpretation of the venue based off the language in the Crain's article, however you have been misguided. Please know that American Junkie Chicago will be nothing like the others and will compliment the level of sophistication River North Demands. American Junkie river north will not have the shot wheel or table dancers. Also this location is solely owned by local business owners/ entrepreneurs Bradley Parker and Kyle Badgley. What Brad and Kyle loved about the American Junkie scottsdale is the unforgettable name, the unmatched customer service and the fact that the establishment is 100% about America! Brad and Kyle will be bringing an exciting establishment to an already amazing river north scene. This venue will be a lot different then what is at the scottsdale location.
American Junkie Chicago River North is a modern interpretation of the traditional public house, what we like to call a gastro pub; offering the best in cuisine and mixology. It incorporates elements of the West Coast, where the concept was originated, with the Midwest contemporary blue-collar environment. American Junkie Chicago is the ideal spot for lunch, dinner, and late night socializing, providing a unique atmosphere and energy Chicago has yet to experience.
The expansion of American Junkie to Chicago represents several positive opportunities for the Brand. First, we will be implementing a top rate menu, which will reflect the high quality culinary experience Chicagoans have come to demand. Furthermore, American Junkie is aware that everyone has different tastes and dining preferences. In order to accommodate every guest, we are glad to offer a variety of dishes enhanced by our West Coast influence. We will use all organic products and will use as many local purveyors as possible. Furthermore, we have teamed up with the amazing culinary master minds at Prasino http://www.prosino.com/ who will be assisting us in achieving our high culinary standard.
Our objective at American Junkie is for each customer to have a fun experience. Our entire staff is committed to making American Junkie the best social experience Chicago has to offer no matter what the meal or time of day. Above all American Junkie is a great place for people to meet, retreat, and relax, while offering an escape for those in Chicago's illustrious River North area.
What a dumb name for a club
ReplyDeleteSo... are you guys basically just ripping off Public House's concept and menu? You stole there exact font, style, layout, headings, and many menu items. You even copied their beer description symbols! HA! Any creative ideas of your own? Or do you just steal other people's?
ReplyDeleteBradley Parker and Kyle Badgley shame on you exploiting the tradesmen building your multimillion dollar place.
